Steam: LOTRO, DDO and Vindictus MMORPGs Now Available to Play for Free and My Thoughts on Them

Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.

Turbines The Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online and Nexon’s Vindictus are all now available to play for free on Steam.

I have played all three for a considerable amount of time and what they all set out to do they quite well.

Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars Version 1.005 is Available

Only the hairy can lead men.

Mount & Blade Warband: Napoleonic Wars has been updated with new features such as a new map “Added a new map: Fort Hohenfels”, the ability to surrender “you can now surrender to the enemy by pressing P” and plenty of bug fixes and other changes such as “changed default build points for sappers from 25 to 40 per team”.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Beta 1.1 Patch Now Available

Diggy hole time.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been updated with many fixes which have plagued the enjoyment of the game for many since its launch the other month.

The main highlights are “added an autosave”, “fix for the leaderboard crash”, “fix for being able to stand on sugarcane” (it was useful thought) and “fix for intermittent crash on saving and “fix for intermittent problem where some achievements were not being awarded.”

Updated My Xbox LIVE Apps for iOS and Android Now Available

Stereotypical friends.

Microsoft have announced that the My Xbox Live app for iPhone has been updated. The update will let users “find, learn more about, and control your favorite content from popular entertainment services on Xbox 360. You can control the content on your console with play, pause, fast forward and rewind controls directly from your iPhone.”

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Patch 1.6 is Now Available on Xbox 360

Horses finally have a purpose, sort of.

Skyrim patch 1.6 is now available for download on the Xbox 360. Skyrim newest patch features mounted combat, Kinect support (360) and new kill cameras. The update was only available as part of the Steam Beta Update for PC but is now official released for PC and Xbox 360.

Stream TERA In Your Internet Browser and My Game Streaming Thoughts

One of the reasons games are not taking seriously.

With the help of Gaikai’s cloud gaming service TERA is now available to play for free for thirty minutes in your internet browser. It’s instant to try out.

I would try it out but be warned the game is subscription based with no substance and its pretty boring.

Internet Explorer Finally Coming To Xbox 360

Only six years late then.

Microsoft have demonstrated their web browser on Xbox 360 at E3.

Instead of putting a copy of their PC based web browser directly to a console they are instead going to make one especially for the Xbox 360 which means it should in theory play up to the strengths of using a controller. However if their other current apps are to go by then not very well then.

Tribes: Ascend Version 1.0.942.1, 1.0.961.0 and 1.0.980.1 Patch Notes

Tribes: Ascend has been updated with several major updates such as new maps, weapons, and much more.

I haven’t played Tribes: Ascend since closed beta because it keeps crashing now but the game seems to be getting better as time goes on. It be interesting to see what it looks like in a years time.
