King Toko Game of the Year 2018 (GOTY) Awards

The greatest games that I played in 2018.

Welcome to 2019! It turns out that 2018 was another good year for games, from big exclusive blockbusters like God of War, and Spider-Man to independent games like Kenshi, and RimWorld finally leaving Early Access and getting full 1.0 releases. I played fewer games this year as I tend to only play games that are good (which is debatable), and I try not to waste my time with rubbish. This also means that there is plenty of good games that I just didn’t have the time to play, or old games that I have currently shelved for the time being.

Today its Another World (Out of This World) a 1991 cinematic platformer action-adventure game developed and published by Delphine Software for MS-DOS (DOS). The game tells a story of Lester, a young scientist who, as a result of an experiment gone wrong, finds himself on a dangerous alien world where he is forced to fight for his survival.

Today its UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-COM: UFO Defense) a 1994 turn-based tactical game developed by Mythos Games and MicroProse, and published by MicroProse for MS-DOS and Amiga computers and the Amiga CD32 console. It was also released for PlayStation in 1995. Its European PlayStation release is titled X-COM: Enemy Unknown.

Today its Return to Castle Wolfenstein [Platinum Edition] a 2001 first-person shooter game developed by Gray Matter Interactive and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows. The game was subsequently released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Linux, and Macintosh.

Today its Cannon Fodder 2 (Cannon Fodder 2: Once More unto the Breach) a 1994 action-strategy shoot ’em up game developed by Sensible Software and published by Virgin Interactive for the Amiga. The game is the sequel to Cannon Fodder, a successful game released for multiple platforms in 1993.
