Minecraft Has More Than 20 Million Registered Users

Markus Persson Minecraft’s game creator tweeted that the cube sandbox game has hit another milestone of 20 million registered users.

His tweet said “Minecraft now has 20 million registered users. At 70 kg each, that’s 25% of the weight of the Great Pyramid of Giza.” He followed it up with another adding. “At 4 liters per day, it would take a million years to drink 20 million liquidized humans. Just saying. I’ll stop now.” Notch you weirdo.

With the popularity of Minecraft and because I only just bought the game recently, I thought it be fun to do a regular diary based on my ongoing adventures and tribulations in the randomly created world I decided to call Avalon. I chose this name for no obvious reason just randomly.

Minecraft creator Notch believes that if fans can’t afford Minecraft or any of he’s other games they should just download it illegally. The following contains my thoughts on piracy and what actually happened in regard to Minecraft.

Minecraft: Minecon Official Trailer

Minecon’s official trailer has been released. It shows the journey of Minecraft’s avatar Steve, from his forest house to Minecon. In the video they have their own Minecon in the Minecraft world with some familiar faces making an appearance such as the guys from the Yogscast.

Minecraft has Reached the 4 Million Sales Mark

The Minecraft bandwagon continues with the game recently passing another sales milestone.

According to the statistic page on the Minecraft site, 4,009,502 have bought the game. That represents 24.90% of registered users (16,102,553). Also 41,811 new registered accounts and 7,587 purchases have taken place in the last 24 hours. Blimey.

A Minecraft convention will also take place later this month and hopefully the official Minecraft release will take place this Friday.

Minecraft Beta 1.8: Adventure Update Now Available

The Minecraft 1.8 Adventure Update is now officially available.

If you have played the 1.8 pre-release then you will know what to expect but now everyone can play the new additions without having to work out how to do it.

Minecraft Patch 1.8 The Adventure Update Available Now

The actual release of Minecraft update 1.8 should be out in a few weeks but while you wait for that you can now try out the pre-release version of the Adventure Update. This update adds many new and cool features which you can see in the video above.
