Valve Corporation Has Confirmed a Steam Box Console

Steam in your living room looks pretty good.

Gabe Newell has confirmed rumours recently that Valve are working on a “Steam Box” which is a hardware unit designed especially to bring PC gaming to the living room. Valve Corporation recently released Big Picture mode has gained “stronger than expected” support giving Valve Corporation options when it comes to designing their own living room designed hardware.

More like the annual Valve Corporation Halloween themed money heist.

Over on Steam to celebrate Halloween they have started the 2012 Halloween Sale on loads of scary related video games. A lot of these games are worth buying especially if you don’t have them yet. They should help you get into mood for Halloween, in other words terrified.

Developers will Now Need to Pay $100 to Get Listed on Steam Greenlight

Meanwhile at Valve Corporation Head Quarters.

In a perfect demonstration of how a few can ruin something for everyone else, Steam Greenlight the service on Steam that allow users to list games and decide whether games get published on Steam will now require developers to pay a $100 (£62.87) admission fee. The fee will go straight to charity. In this case it goes to the industries default charity, Child’s Play. What a surprise?

Team Fortress 2 Co-op Mode with Mann vs. Machine Update

Red and Blu working together isn’t that nice to see?

Valve Corporation have today announced a new six player co-operative game mode for Team Fortress 2 called Mann vs. Machine. Players will be against hordes of NPC controlled robot versions of the Team Fortress 2 cast. The update will include new maps and missions with new achievements and items to be earned.

Steam is Going Beyond Just Video Games

The Valve Corporation logo no one ever sees.

Valve Corporation have announced that from 5th September its online digital store Steam will begin selling software titles. None was named but expect stuff ranging from “creativity to productivity.” I am guessing this will mean they will start offering things like the Apple Store and Google Play store such as photo applications with film and music being added in the future?

Left 4 Dead 2 Cold Stream DLC Now Available on PC but Delayed on Consoles

The signs of abandonment.

Valve’s newest bit of after thought DLC has finally been released for PC users.

The DLC is called Cold Stream: “This community created campaign throws you deep in the back woods to face thousands of zombies as you battle your way to a helicopter rescue.  Don’t let the water or waves of zombies sweep you away to your death.”
