City of Steam Forth Alpha Weekend is Available

City of Steam is currently having its last alpha weekend. This fourth alpha weekend started today at around 03:00 PM GMT and ends on Monday. Mechanist Games have said that its main priority for the weekend is to stress test the game so they want lots of people to give the game a try. To take part you need to have a have alpha key which can be obtained through various means on the City of Steam official website.

City of Steam Alpha 0.7.2 Patch Notes

These are the patch notes from the third City of Steam alpha weekend which happened last week. There no official path notes list available at the moment so I thought I make a list of the changes being made to the game and I will post new patch notes as City of Steam gets updated in the future. Killing Floor: Ash Hardy Character Pack DLC is Now Available

Basically the female Rambo of the Killing Floor world.

A new bit of DLC was recently released for Killing Floor. Its called the Ash Hardy Character Pack and it adds a new character to the already existing set of weirdos and freaks. It costs £2.99 which some would say and I agree is quite a bit for one new character. However I think it’s the first female playable character in the game and it has a “custom voice pack”. So it’s probably worth checking out.

Dungeon Defenders Patch 7.40 and Free Jester Hero DLC are Now Available

Chess the game for crazy Jester Heroes.

Dungeon Defenders has been updated yesterday with some bug fixes and a few new additions such as the “Jester Hero DLC” and many more improvements to the game. The Jester Hero a new DLC for Dungeon Defenders is now Available on Steam and free until 22nd August 10AM PDT.

Version 7.40 was released on 8th August.

DayZ has Over a Million Unique Players and is Now a Standalone Game

Pump those tasty chicken legs.

About a month ago Arma II mod DayZ passed the 500,000-player mark. Now over one million have joined and tried out the game since it was released earlier this year. The counter on the mod’s official website shows that players have killed “2,147,483,647” zombies and accumulated over 1299 years of total play time with an average life expectancy of 49 minutes since the game launched. Also interestingly there has been “3,849,464” murders, you traitors those are real people killing (virtual ones).

Allods Online: New Horizons is Now Available. Also New Trailer

If only the game was that much fun.

Allods Online’s expansion New Horizons has finally arrived is available for all existing or new players to try out. The expansion (patch) allows you to have your own personal island, adds a rebalanced Psionicist class, the ability to change factions, a new draconic aspect and much more. The patch is available on all servers whether you play on North America or Europe ones.

Steam is Going Beyond Just Video Games

The Valve Corporation logo no one ever sees.

Valve Corporation have announced that from 5th September its online digital store Steam will begin selling software titles. None was named but expect stuff ranging from “creativity to productivity.” I am guessing this will mean they will start offering things like the Apple Store and Google Play store such as photo applications with film and music being added in the future?
