World of Warcraft: All Races Will Be Available For Free Even Without Future Expansions

Get some free Samurai worgen action.

The other day Blizzard Entertainment announced that with the release of patch 5.0.4, all the races of Azeroth will be playable by everyone “no matter which version or expansion of World of Warcraft they own” This means that the pandaren who will available in the upcoming expansion World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria will become available to everyone to play regardless whether you own that particular expansion or any of the others.

“We want the entire World of Warcraft community to be able to embrace their inner goblin, blood elf, worgen, draenei, or pandaren from the moment they step foot into the world of Azeroth.”

This means if you happen not that have the latest expansions or just like playing with low level characters, you will now be able to run around as a goblin or pandaren in those low level zones or even make a pandaren bank character.

This is a good move by Blizzard Entertainment to encourage more people to try out the game and to eventually by their expansions which are required to reach the higher levels in the game. You can safely assume that the various races starter zones will be available for everyone to play too.

Of course Blizzard Entertainment could have done this years ago seeing as you have to download all the latest patches whether you got the new content or not. In the end of the day all you are buying is a glorified key code when you buy the game in a shop.
