Blizzard Entertainment have finally sorted out their Diablo III systems enough that people can now try out the Starter Edition for free. It is basically a demo and is available through Battle.net. With the Starter Edition you can fight up to the Skeleton King boss in Act I and get to level 13 all without having to purchase Diablo III.
Starter Edition restrictions:
- Act I up to the Skeleton King is available.
- Level 13 cap.
- Matchmaking available only with other Starter Edition players.
- No Auction House access (Real Money or Gold).
- Global Play is now available for the Diablo III Starter Edition.
There are certain game features restriction in the Starter Edition. However any progress and achievements you earn while playing the Starter Edition will carry over if you happen to get the full version of Diablo III. By doing this you will also remove all Starter Edition restrictions.
