The actual release of Minecraft update 1.8 should be out in a few weeks but while you wait for that you can now try out the pre-release version of the Adventure Update. This update adds many new and cool features which you can see in the video above.

The game Dead Island is now available on GamersGate for £29.95, It is not currently available on Steam which is strange.
Dead Island seems to be a mix between Fallout and Left for Dead so it looks interesting. You should check it out if you are a fan of these games.
As part of Steams two week long Summer Camp Sale you can currently Save 75% of Terraria for one day only.
I suggest people buy it now. It was a good price before but now its even cheaper than a pint of beer.

I have decided to put together a guide for all the vanity items available in the game. The following list contains all the vanity items available in Terraria and how to find and make them.
Vanity items are wearable items that can be equipped in social slots next to your armor slots. They change your appearance but not your armor stats.

As I have nearly completed the game fully and been everywhere except the floating islands, I have decided to put together a list for all the crafting recipes available in the game. The following list contains all the recipes available in Terraria and how to make them. This list took a long time to put together.

The following is the patch notes so far for the Minecraft 1.6 beta. Patch 1.6 should be out before the end of the week.
Most of the bug fixes are to do with multiplayer but there is quite a few nice fixes for single players too. This patch looks like its going to be bigger than the previous few patches.
These are some tips and tricks I have discovered for the excellent building game Terraria. Most stuff in the game is self-explanatory but the following should prove helpful. I will add more to the list when I discover more. Let me know if you find out any of your own.

Update 28/05/11: Added a lot more information and tidied up some of the layout.
Notch announced on Twitter that patch 1.6 will be coming to the Minecraft next week. The patch was mostly a bug fixing update that would include only one new feature the in-game map system. It was later confirmed that a fully functional Nether in multiplayer was being worked on and lots more such as hatches.
In other Minecraft news a new “sky dimension” is being worked on. The new dimension is a series of floating islands. While this was probably just an experiment, Notch has since decided to finish it.
