Terraria Vanity Items Guide

I have decided to put together a guide for all the vanity items available in the game. The following list contains all the vanity items available in Terraria and how to find and make them.

Vanity items are wearable items that can be equipped in social slots next to your armor slots. They change your appearance but not your armor stats.

Plumber’s Clothes

Makes you look like Mario.

Plumber’s Clothes Set 3/3:

• Plumber’s Hat
• Plumber’s Shirt
• Plumber’s Pants

The Plumber’s Hat is rarely dropped by Fire Imps found in the Underworld.

The shirt and pants can be purchased from the Clothier NPC for 25 gold each.

Archaeologist’s Clothes

Makes you look like Indiana Jones.

Archaeologist’s Suit Set 3/3:

• Archaeologist’s Hat
• Archaeologist’s Jacket
• Archaeologist’s Pants

The Archaeologist’s hat is dropped by Doctor Bones a rare zombie.

Doctor Bones spawns mostly on blood moons, it can spawn underground and in the Underground Jungle.

The shirt and pants can be created on a Loom from a total of 30 Leather.

Leather is made on a Loom from 5 Rotten Chunks which drop from Eater of Souls and Devourers from Corrupted areas.

Hero’s Clothes

Makes you look like Link from Zelda.

Hero’s Clothes Set 3/3:

• Hero’s Hat
• Hero’s Shirt
• Hero’s Pants

All can be created at a Loom from a total of 9 Green Dye and 60 Silk.

Green Dye is made from 3 Jungle Grass Seeds and a Bottle at an Alchemy Station.

Silk is made from 10 Cobweb at a Loom.

In total you need 27 Jungle Grass Seeds from grass in jungle environments and 600 Cobweb from underground areas.

Ninja Clothes

Makes you look a ninja.

Ninja Clothes Set 3/3:

• Ninja Hood
• Ninja Shirt
• Ninja Pants

Set Bonus:

Gives a motion blur movement pattern.

Each piece is has a 33% chance of dropping from the rare King Slime boss.

The King Slime can spawn anywhere a regular slime can spawn, anytime underground and only in the day time above ground.

Doctor’s Clothes

Makes you look like the Eleventh Doctor from Doctor Who.

Doctor’s Clothes Set 2/2:

• Doctor’s Shirt
• Doctor’s Pants

The shirt and pants can be bought from the Clothier NPC for 20 gold each after a full moon has occurred.

Tuxedo

Makes you look smart.

Tuxedo Set 3/3:

• Top Hat
• Tuxedo Shirt
• Tuxedo Pants

The top hat is dropped by the The Groom a rare zombie.

All can be created at a Loom from a total of 6 Black Dye and 40 Silk.

Black Dye is sold by the Clothier NPC for 1 gold.

Silk is made from 10 Cobweb at a Loom.

Familiar Clothes

Look like your original clothes.

Familiar Clothes Set 3/3:

• Familiar Wig
• Familiar Shirt
• Familiar Pants

All can be bought from the Clothier NPC for 1 gold.

Bunny Hood

Makes you look like Frank the Bunny from Donnie Darko.

Has a 1% chance of dropping from a Corrupt Bunny.

Corrupt Bunny created by using Vile Powder on a Bunny or a by waiting for a Blood Moon.

Red Hat

Makes you look like the Clothier NPC.

Has a 100% chance of dropping from the Clothier NPC.

The Clothier NPC needs to be killed by an enemy or the environment such as from lava.

Summer Hat

Makes you look like an idiot.

Hat is sold by the Clothier NPC for 1 gold.

After you defeat Skeletron the Old Man will arrive at your home as the Clothier.

Robe

Makes you look like Tim the skeleton mage.

Can be created at a Work Bench from a total of 3 Ruby and 30 Silk.

Gems can be mined rarely underground.

Silk is made from 10 Cobweb at a Loom.

Robot Hat

Makes you look like Quote from Cave Story.

Has a 0.2% chance from dropping from Piranhas and Corrupt Goldfish.

Piranhas can be found in underground water in the Jungle, Underground and Cavern layers.

Gold Crown

Makes you look like a King.

Can be created at an Iron Anvil from 1 Ruby and 30 Gold Bar.

Gems can be mined rarely underground.

Fish Bowl

Makes you look like a fish.

Can be crafted at a Work Bench from 2 Goldfish and a Bottle.

When placed in the head equipment slot the player loses breath as if underwater.

Sunglasses

Makes you and the Sun look cool.

Can be crafted at a Chair and Work Bench from 2 Black Lens.

Has 1% chance of dropping from Demon Eyes which spawn at night.

Mime Mask

Makes you look strange.

Can be bought from the Clothier NPC during a Blood Moon.

Jungle Rose

Makes you look sweet.

These can be collected from the floor of the Underground Jungle.
