Tripwire Interactive have once again returned with a special event for christmas. Its called Twisted Christmas III: Evil Santa’s Moonbase and features a low gravity moon base map, a dwarven battle-axe, a new character (the Domestic Assistance Robot/D.A.R), two new guns and a new DLC weapon pack available for purchase.
From killingfloorthegame.com: “Yes, we have Zeds in space. New Moonbase map for you – killing the undead in low gravity! There is the new Schneidzekk Medic Gun for all the healers-who-like-to-kill out there. Scattered around the map you’ll find the pieces of the Z.E.D. Gun – collect them all to be able to zap the Zeds – and catch them in the guns secondary stasis field. And for some really great Zed-battering, you can get the Dwarfs!? Axe. Simply download the free-to-play version of Dwarfs!?, collect a total of 40,000 gold in the game and earn the “Not a war-hammer” achievement to unlock the Axe. Or take the shortcut and buy the full version of Dwarfs!?. If you already own Dwarfs!? you should be good to go anyway!”

“A handy new weapon for all the Medics out there. High rate of fire and the ever-useful healing dart gun slung under the barrel.” - Zed Extermination Device:
“The Z.E.D. gun can be found lying around the Moonbase in pieces. If you can find them all, you’ll get permanent access to this piece of hi-tech hardware. A stasis field to slow the enemies down, plus plasma bolts to kill ’em with.” - Dwarfs!? Axe:
“For some unknown reason, someone left a Dwarfs!? axe embedded in a piece of rock in the Moonbase. To get access to it, you’ll either need to earn 40,000 gold in Dwarfs!? Free-to-play, or (if you are feeling lazy) own a full copy of Dwarfs!?”
The ZED is a weapon you can get by collecting sixteen weapon parts throughout the new Moonbase map in a single game. Once you have collected all the parts you can buy the ZED gun from the gun vendor. The ZED gun allows players to slow down enemies and kill them with energy balls. I don’t find the gun that useful seeing as it takes a while to slow down the enemies but you can slow more than one enemy at a time.
A nice feature about the new map is that shotguns can be used to propel yourself through the air if you fire one while jumping in the Moonbase map which makes for a quite effective jetpack.
I have played the new event recently and its a lot of fun. Of course I am a big fan of killing Floor so I would probably say that anyway. If you aren’t then I am not sure this update and event will change your mind much about the game but it is a well made co-op game.
Twisted Christmas III: Evil Santa’s Moonbase lasts until the 3rd January 2013.
