Complete Baldur’s Gate: and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions Coming Soon

Good luck to the FBI catching these guys.

The site BaldursGate.com has revealed that Atari and Beamdog intend to produce an enhanced edition of the original game for release this year. The game will apparently feature new content by some of the original team, and will also contain the Tales Of The Sword Coast expansion.

From the Baldur’s Gate site: “Overhaul Games has assembled a talented team of artists, programmers and designers to enhance this timeless classic. To remain true to the spirit of the game, the team includes original Baldur’s Gate developers… Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition will feature a re-forged version of the Infinity Engine with a variety of modern improvements.”

Both enhanced editions will include all the expansions associated with the games.

If you can’t be bothered to wait for the enhanced editions you can get both over on GoG for $9.99 each or you can get the complete Dungeon & Dragons experience by buying the “Dungeons & Dragons Anthology: The Master Collection” which includes six full games with all expansions. The collection contains Baldur’s Gate I and II and much more. This can be bought over on the official Atari site for $19.99.

It be interesting to see if they stay faithful to the originals or completly ruin them. Either way they are bound to attract new and old players a like to take another look at the classic series. I am currently playing the complete Neverwinter Nights collection. It’s a lot of fun.
