Originally released only on the PlayStation Portable in Japan, The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in English.
Thanks to a fan translation several years ago, an English version has been made for this game which is part of the Trail series, developed by Nihon Falcom and published by NIS America.
Trails to Azure (2011) serves as a sequel to The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero (2010), forming the second and final part of the series’ so-called “Crossbell arc.” Now you can play both games on modern platforms, with some improvements.
In the game, you are part of The Special Support Section, a rag-tag Police group that deals with cases and problems in the city-state of Crossbell.
I have never played a Trails game and was going to play The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero last year but never did. I may play that and The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure someday. I hear that they are well-made games.
I particularly like the art style and camera angles used in both games. They remind me of old PlayStation RPGs.
The game and its prequel are available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
