Four Best Games from Nacon Connect 2023

The best games from Nacon Connect.

Recently publisher Nacon showed off their upcoming games for 2023. These, in my opinion, are the best games displayed in the short presentation.

Contents

  1. RoboCop: Rogue City
  2. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
  3. War Hospital
  4. Ad Infinitum

NACON Connect 2023

There were a few different game genres, but the four below are the ones I am looking forward to the most. They are in no particular order.

RoboCop: Rogue City

They certainly have the mood correct.

Become the iconic part man, part machine, all cop hero as you attempt to bring justice to the dangerous, crime-ridden streets of Old Detroit.

The biggest game is RoboCop: Rogue City by Teyon. A game that feels a lot like Cyperbunk and has the potential of being a disaster like that game was. So far, it looks playable enough.

It seems faithful to the source material, but it is interesting to see if its interactions are linear or if you have a choice in approaches to situations. At the moment, it looks more like a Duke Nukem Forever, where you have interactions, but they are set pieces without much freedom.

Another concern is the movement seems a bit slow. Sure, RoboCop walks a lot in the films, but in a video game, that may become annoying. Later in the video, he moves around quicker, if only slightly.

I have high hopes that it will a least be serviceable.

It is set for release in June 2023 for PC. It will also release for all other consoles.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

Gollum stealth action.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™ is a story-driven action adventure. Take on a perilous journey as Gollum, chasing the only thing that is precious to him. Gollum is skillful and cunning, but also torn by his split personality. One mind, two egos – you decide!

Steam

Daedalic Entertainment’s upcoming game is an interesting take on the Lord of the Rings. It could be great if you care about the lore. I haven’t cared about The Lord of the Rings since the first film, so it might not be aimed at me.

Also, the characters don’t look like their film counterparts which could be a problem for some. It also doesn’t help that they don’t look the greatest. However, they did make Gollum seem cute with a big head and eyes.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum seems equivalent to A Plague Tale: Innocence, where combat isn’t the main focus, compared to stealth and exploration.

It is set for release in 2023 for PC. It will also release for all other consoles except Nintendo Switch.

War Hospital

The real horror of war is all the bureaucracy involved.

Be the ray of hope among the darkness of war. Manage a British WW1 field hospital in a 3D isometric RTS where you lead the medical corps instead of soldiers. Fight for life, soul, and humanity in a world that rejected them in a unique society survival game.

Steam

War Hospital by Brave Lamb Studio is next. You don’t see many World War I games, and this looks like it will be a good one. In it, you run a British hospital during World War I. You can upgrade it and decide what happens to the patients.

It has mechanics similar to games like Papers, Please, but with enough new mechanics to make it stand out.

It is always cool to see games that take on an aspect of something from a different point of view.

It is set for release on 20th April 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S and X.

Ad Infinitum

This is one messed-up scene.

You fight for your sanity and survival in the trenches of the Great War and the walls of your family home. Play a German soldier haunted by the horrors of the Great War. Terrible creatures, death traps, and insane mysteries mark your path through the battlefield.

Another World War I game, and it looks good. Hekate has been working on Ad Infinitum for a long time.

In the game, you play as a German soldier who straddles two dimensions. In one second, you might be exploring a mansion in Berlin, and then in the next, you might crawl around some trenches and have to hide from goblin-like creatures.

Psychological horror games can be some of the best games if done right. Hopefully, this will live up to the promises made.

It is set for release in September 2023 for PC. It will also release for all other consoles except Nintendo Switch.

These are the four games I found the most interesting. Other people might find the other games shown to be worth checking out too.
