The newest expansion for World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria has expectedly help boost subscriptions with Blizzard Entertainment selling twenty-seven million copies in the expansions first week. World of Warcraft subscribers have passed the ten million mark again.
In August Blizzard Entertainment reported that the subscriptions for the game declined to nine million. However this time last year subscriptions were at eleven million.
Blizzard Entertainment CEO Mike Morhaime said “It’s been gratifying to see the results of all of the work we put into this expansion and to hear all of the positive feedback from players so far.”
So not really surprising to see that subscriptions have risen with a new expansion out, it is a good one after all. However expect numbers to fall after the expansion excitement drops off.
