That’s how real men punch.

Kalypso Media the producers of strategy games such as the Tropico, Port Royale and Patrician franchises are bringing organised crime back to gaming with Omerta: City Of Gangsters. Anyone who has played the excellent Gangsters: Organized Crime will know what to expect. It plays similar to that game and games like Men of War and Tropico. The game will be developed by Haemimont Games who developed games like Tropico 3 and Tropico 4.

From cityofgangsters.com: “Omerta City Of Gangsters is a simulation game with tactical turn-based combat. Taking the role of a fresh-from-the-boat immigrant, with dreams of the big life, the player will work his way up the criminal hierarchy of 1920’s Atlantic City. Starting with small jobs, his character recruits a gang and expands his empire by taking territory from other gangsters. Eventually he establishes his own crime syndicate and becomes the de facto ruler of Atlantic City.”

I am looking forward to this game because with pirates, the Mafia and Cosa Nostra are some of the things I love in films, books, games and real life.

Gangsters: Organised Crime is one of my favorite video games of all time and I hope this can give the same joy and enjoyment as that game gave me back in the day. Having real life mobsters is a step in the right direction but It coming to Xbox 360 makes me kind of worried that it will be too dumped down. However the only thing I can guarantee is that Atlantic City wont know what hit them.

Omerta: City Of Gangsters will be available for Xbox 360 and PC some time later this year.
