I am legion, shazbot.

I have started playing Tribes: Ascend recently so I though I do some guides for the game. This guide will help new players with the fundamentals of playing the game.

I will do more Tribes: Ascend guides in the future.

Tribes: Ascend? [TRI]

Tribes: Ascend is an upcoming free-to-play multiplayer-only first-person shooter part of the Tribes franchise. It is being developed by Hi-Rez Studios and was announced on 11th March 2011 at PAX East with an expected release in early 2012. Iconic aspects from previous Tribes games such as jetpacks and skiing will be featured in the game.

It will be available as a digital download for Microsoft Windows, though Hi-Rez Studios haven’t ruled out the possibility of an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 release in the future.

Currently, the game is available to play in the form of a closed beta.

Controls [CON]

Other controls

V = Voice commands.

T = Team talk.

Y = Talk.

K = Suicide.

Skiing and Jetpack [SKI]

Skiing is the main mechanic of Tribes: Ascend and is essential to being successful on the battlefield.

To ski press and hold Spacebar while going down a slope.

To maintain your momentum while going uphill press and hold RMB to use your Jetpack.

Your Jetpack uses Energy which will generate when not in use.

Dont ski when jetting as this will make you loss some speed.

Tribes: Ascend has a ski tutorial which everyone should try when playing for the first time.

Ski can be changed to toggle instead of hold under keybinds in the options.
