First Gameplay Trailer for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin

Scary, roary dragon breaths.

Developer Frontier Developments have recently released a gameplay trailer for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin. Their upcoming strategy game is set in the Mortal Realms. The universe after the Old World was destroyed.

The trailer shows the Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz fighting for the resources within the Ghurian swamps. An area in the Realm of Ghur.

Characters are worrying that they can die again.
Upgrades objective to provide bonuses.
Tall green swamp orcs.

So far, the game seems very on-brand for the universe and the current story of the Age of Sigmar. While they have only revealed two factions, I expect the Nighthaunt and the Skaven or Maggotkin of Nurgle to be added as additional ones.

It looks good if console-centric in its approach to strategy games. I prefer this style of strategy game. It is more like Company of Heroes or Dawn of War. Having a more focused battle on smaller forces so you can care more about each unit and encourage zooming in.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin will release sometime on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X. A open beta will happen between the 7th and 10th July 2023.
