2K Games and Hangar 13 have today released a remake of the classic Illusion Softworks game Mafia. Its called Mafia: Definitive Edition and as you imagine is an updated version.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is a faithful remake of the original, almost to a fault. Shame nothing has been added. If you didn’t like the original you are still not going to like this version. It’s the same game but with better graphics.
I have fond memories of the original and the game itself still holds up. Most people remember the near-impossible racing mission and this has been improved in this version as it was in the original with a patch.
Mafia: Definitive Edition Launch Trailer.
It is safe to say the franchise as slowly went downhill since the first game. Speaking of which you can get all three games in a package and save money by doing so. The package overall is good but wait for a sale.
I would recommend people play the original as it is cheaper and waiting for this version to be on sale, again. Sure it’s pretty, yet you aren’t getting anything new for your money (£34.99) except a fresh coat of paint. There is not much open-world fun as it’s all about the missions and feeling like you are in the 1930s.
