Three New Pokémon Games Announced

If i had a Pikachu I would never have to worry about waking up ever again.

The Pokémon Company last night announced some new projects they have been working on at a press conference they held in Tokyo. When I say three new games have been announced it is more like one and three applications but read on for the details.

Pokémon Sleep

Sleep is a new mobile game from The Pokémon Company and developed by Select Button, it will merge the use of your sleep data with gameplay to make sleep a more engaging experience. This reminded me a lot of the old Pikachu pedometer (Pokémon Pikachu) and the Nintendo DSiWare Sleep Clock that recorded and analysed your sleep patterns. The new Pokémon GO Plus+ will also work with it. Both should be out in Spring 2020.

Pokémon Masters

Masters is a new mobile game that DeNA are developing. This upcoming game allows you to experience a new type of Pokémon game, that allows players to battle on the go with many iconic Pokémon Trainers from the history of Pokémon such as Rock and Misty. This will be a free-to-play money pit game where you can rank up and recruit various trainers. Be sure to get a level five Misty.

Detective Pikachu

A new Detective Pikachu game is being developed to take advantage of the popularity Detective Pikachu movie (you can read my Pokémon Detective Pickachu Review) for the Nintendo Switch. This new game will follow on from the original Nintendo 3DS Detective Pikachu game and is supposed to round up the story more conclusively.

Pokémon Home

This is a digital storage service that will allow players to house and trade their Pokémon from numerous other games. It will be familiar to anyone who has used Pokémon Bank in the past. Home will connect up to Pokémon Bank, Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu, Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee, Pokémon Go, and Pokémon Sword and Shield games. Home should be out by this time next year.

The Pokémon Company announced an enhanced version of Pokémon Quest will be launching in China, and that the Pokémon Shirts service which allows you to order custom shirts will be launching in America and Europe.

Out of all the announcements, the one I am most looking forward to is Pokémon Sleep. Pokémon Pikachu and the old DSiWare Sleep Clock were great in encouraging better behaviours so hopefully Pokémon Sleep, can do the same too.
