Monster Hunter 4 will be released in Spring 2013 in Japan with no other release planed for outside Japan so far. The date was listed at the end of a new Monster Hunter 4 trailer that was shown during the Capcom Summer Jam event in Odaibas on the Monster Hunter stage.
Tigrex and Rathalos can be seen in the video while hunters are shown fighting these beasts with new actions such as jumping off cliffs and attacking Shadow of the Colossus style by climbing up monster’s backs.

Monster Hunter 4 is coming to the Nintendo 3DS and is looking quite similar to the PSP version if a bit more colourful.
My main problem with the Monster Hunter series is its insistence on being a mainly handheld game franchise. Why don’t they utilise the full power of a PC or a console like a PlayStation 3 to make the ultimate Monster Hunter experience, similar to Dragons Dogma but with online multiplayer?
I am sure Capcom likes the fact that you have to gather and meet at cafe’s to get help from others on tougher missions but that’s not very popular outside Japan where they have designated places for Monster Hunter meetings. Instead why don’t they make the most of the internet to avoid that whole problem?
