Currently the free to play MMORPG The Lord of the Rings Online is celebrating its 5th Anniversary which is quite surprising amount of time by modern MMO standards. It runs from 16th April to 30th April and features events, quests, items and much more fun Tolkien related guff.
Watch the video below which someone put on YouTube for a small taste of what to expect. Be ready to go blind or/and deaf after watching it.
Definitely pretty.
From the official site:
“This year marks LOTRO’s 5th Anniversary! As part of the celebration, we would like to give you a gift as our way of saying thank you for joining us on our journey over the last five years! During the Anniversary Festival, which runs from April 16th through April 30th, all players will be eligible to receive gifts based on your account status* as of 11:59 DST on April 15th. Gifts will range from a new, unique set of fireworks and special anniversary cloak that all eligible players will receive to more exclusive items for our most steadfast premium and VIP players.”
“This year’s anniversary festival will be bigger than ever before! Filled with new events and rewards as well as classic activities, there is sure to be something for everyone. Whether you are brawling for beer at the Ale Hall, winning a new Steed at the Bree-land and Shire Horse Races, or defeating monsters to find tokens, we have something for every resident of Middle-earth.”
“From April 24th to April 30th, enjoy a 100% bonus on all monster kills across Middle-earth! It’s the perfect time to start that new character or take your favorite class to new adventures.”
Go here for a lot more information about the celebrations.
I am tempted to get my Dwarf Champion back from hes solo beer based vacation in Bree and into these current beer soaked festivities. I should probably make the most of the free stuff and bonus XP etc. I started playing not that a long ago after all but World of Warcraft and other stuff has been distracting me a lot lately.
