BioWare have announced yesterday that its top budget MMORPG will be adding a free-to-play option by this Autumn. The game will also be going on sale in August for $14.99 (£9.61) with a free one month subscription included for people who might want to get involved in the game before free to play changes happen. As Star Wars: The Old Republic is going to free to play get ready to hear about Cartel Coins a lot.
The multi-player Star Wars, World of Warcraft clone will be having a free weekend, the page for which is here. The first free weekend is “Thursday, March 15 at 12:01 AM CT through Monday, March 19 at 2:00 AM CT.” There are some more details here.
I havent played Star Wars: The Old Republic but apparently it is supposed to be ok for a World of Warcraft clone. Despite what you feel about the game it can’t be argued that it is with Rift one of the best and solid massively multiplayer online game releases. Usually MMOs take about six months to get to where SWTOR is now.
This patch adds more content and bug fixes and it is due soon but Its only available on the test servers at the moment.
