Minecraft 1.5 Patch, Demo And Other Bug Fixes Now Available

Run its raining!

Notch has made a 4Mb demo for PC Gamer. You can get it here.

But most important of all you can now get 1.5 update that adds:

  • Weather (rain, snow, thunder)
  • Statistics
  • Achievements
  • Detector rail
  • Booster rail
  • Performance improvements

“More statistics and achievements will be added over time as we develop the game. They’re only stored locally at the moment, but we’ll slowly be rolling out online storing of achievements over time.” Says Notch.

Also since this update Notch has released some patches that should fix a lot of the bugs that some players might of being experiencing.

Minecraft Patch 1.5 Out Next Week

Let's build some snowmen!

According to Notch the latest patch will be delayed until next week “There’s been significant feature creep (we’ve got powered rails now, and lightning hitting a pig will turn it into a zombie pigman), so we don’t have time to get it out this week.” So people waiting for the latest patch which includes weather, stats and achievements will have to wait a bit longer.

Minecraft Update 1.5 Video Preview

This video shows the upcoming 1.5 update, which should arrive this week. Notch says that the “rain and especially thunder is waaay too common in this test, for demo purposes.”

It’s good that Minecraft is becoming more involving. I really like the rain effects and the snow makes it hard to see in front of you which snow does in real life.

Minecraft Official Release in November

Minecraft within Minecraft.

This November 11th Minecraft is finally released. On the same day as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson has said that:

The version we deem as the “full version” won’t be very different at all from what the game was like a week ago, and we’ll keep adding features after the release as well, so it’s really more of a milestone when we finally get rid of the Beta label, and some kind of goal for us to work towards.

Fallout: New Vegas Patch

It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman... No It's a Floating Gecko.

The first patch for the PC version of the game has been released and is automatically downloaded once you start up the game. The patch will apparently fix quest and scripting issues.

Patches for the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the game will be released soon.

Bethesda said:

We are currently working on releasing patches/updates as quickly as possible for Fallout: New Vegas, for all platforms… Announcements regarding the patches are forthcoming.

It will get better hopefully.
