Nintendo has broadcast its latest Nintendo Direct with all the games coming soon and next year. There were some surprises to look forward to. Here are the games coming to Nintendo Switch that were the most interesting.
Persona 5 Tactica

Persona 5 Tactica was shown the other week. If you like Persona and, or tactic games, this one looks like it could be good. It uses the Personas present in the fifth game, allowing more variation.
Release: 17th November 2023
MythForce

MythForce is a dungeon crawler mixed with a Saturday morning cartoon. It looks very 80s inspried. It looks fun and playable in multiplayer. It may offer something a little different than the usual fantasy game. Even it has the standard character classes.
Release: 2023
Detective Pikachu Returns

Detective Pikachu Returns is a sequel to Detective Pikachu from the Nintendo 3DS. I have no clue how the film relates to it, but I assume it is ignored. I never played the original game, and this one looks like it will be similar but in a more 3D world. Adventure and Pokémon fans will enjoy it. It comes out on my birthday.

Release: 6th October.
Super Mario RPG

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, which came out on the Super Nintendo, is getting a remake. It seems like a faithful rerelease of the first RPG in the Mario series with better visuals. It will be interesting to see if the game still holds up today compared to newer RPGs.
Release: 17th November.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy

The first three games in the Batman trilogy are getting bundled with all released DLC into one package. While the graphics have been compromised slightly in the Batman: Arkham Trilogy, it is still impressive that they have been able to put them on the Nintendo Switch. It might be a neat place to play them if you haven’t played any before.

Release: 2023.
Gloomhaven

Gloomhaven is a popular board game which recently got a sequel. This game has been on PC for a while and is now coming to Nintendo Switch. I haven’t played the board game, but the video game is a well done digital implementation. Being able to play it on a console is appealing.
Release: 18th September 2023.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1

Konami is releasing all their old games again, and they are coming to Nintendo Switch. It contains the first three Metal Gear Solid games, MSX games, graphic novels, guides, and more. I am guessing that Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and the PlayStation Portable games will come out in Vol.2. While Metal Gear games have been put together before, this time it seems like they are trying to give a little more than just the games by themselves.

Release: 24th October 2023.
Star Ocean: The Second Story R

The second game in the Star Ocean series is getting a remake with a mixture of 2D and 3D graphics. I never played a game in this series, I always wanted to. The second game is a popular entry, so this might be a good one to jump into.

Release: 2nd November 2023.
WarioWare: Move It!

WarioWare is getting a new game in the party game series. This time it seems like they want to make more use of the controllers to make it more active and silly. Expect to see mini-games made out of prober games and other unique games. Multiplayer also seems to be a focus. I only ever played the Game Boy Advance ones. This entry could be a good one.
Release: 3rd November 2023.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a new 2D entry into the world of Mario. While it is familiar to previous games, they have taken the idea of wonder and the strange and run with it. Many will joke that it is like Mario is taking drugs. The visuals have a sharp and expressive look to them. It will also have multiplayer like other games in the series. Finally, there are new abilities, such as turning into an elephant to punch enemies. The game looks like a lot of fun.

Release: 20th October 2023.
Nintendo also showed more of Pikmin 4, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, Manic Mechanics, Vampire Survivors, some DLC, and a few other games. Pikmin 1+2, the first game in the Pikmin series, was shown to be coming out today.
They also announced they were bringing Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, and a Princess Peach (probably set in the Paper Mario series) game to the console in 2024.
Overall the Nintendo Direct was good, showing once again that Nintendo knows how to make games. It also showed that third parties still want to support the console, even if they aren’t exclusive to the platform.
