Hogwarts Legacy is Available

…This is how I became the most bothersome child at boarding school.

Video game developer Avalanche Software and publisher Warner Bros. Games have released Hogwarts Legacy recently. It is an open world game where you explore the world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter, where you can do quests with magic.

Expect the usual gameplay related to an open world game. This time themed around Harry Potter. Envision listening to a wide range of both good and bad British accents, wearing preppy gowns and pyjamas, walking around stuck in time scenery, doing quests to pop a few balloons, repair statues with magic, or retrieve some collectable moths and pieces of paper, you are now playing Hogwarts Legacy.

If you haven’t guessed, I am not a fan of the world of Harry Potter (the Wizarding World). It doesn’t help that the game isn’t different enough compared to any other open world game. As such, it doesn’t offer anything for the non-fan to get excited about.

The game is available on all modern platforms. The previous generation versions come out in April, and the Nintendo Switch version will be released in July. Therefore everyone should be able to give the game ago eventually. I have no doubt that the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch versions will have some framerate or other issues.

I have written down some of my thoughts about the game here: Hogwarts Legacy Review.

If you are a fan of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I am sure you will have a pleasant enough time. At the start, you are put into one of the four houses and later can fly around on a broomstick.
