Onimusha: Warlords HD is Now Available and Playthrough

Fight demons as Samanosuke Akechi in Sengoku period Japan.

Capcom love doing remakes and remasters of their games and the newest to get some treatment is their classic PlayStation 2 game – Onimusha: Warlords. I happen to have played through the original PlayStation 2 version not that long ago. You can view this on my site if you want to see a playthrough of the whole game for yourself.

The game is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It is currently ranked 46 out of 105 in my Ranking of Good Games, and for good reason too.

The HD version only includes a few new features. So don’t expect to see any new secrets, making of documentaries, or other extras.

Capcom’s riveting samurai adventure returns! This version includes the original game’s intense swordplay and dramatic revenge story, plus a host of enhancements. Improved controls allow players to move and fight with analog-stick precision. The crisp, high-definition visuals support 16:9 widescreen as well as the original 4:3 resolution display. A new soundtrack brings the feudal Japan setting to life with an air of authenticity and intrigue. Experience this enhanced version of the best-selling action-adventure classic!

Watch my Onimusha: Warlords Playthrough on its page or watch my Good Game video below. Read my Good Game post for more information about the game.

The game still holds up today especially if you are a fan of the old style Devil May Cry and Resident Evil games. It is till fun – but many will likely feel it’s very clunky and shallow now. However those exact points is what made it such a great game in the first place.
