Battle Brothers’ Traits Guide [Updated!]

Battle Brothers is an indie, strategy and RPG game developed by Overhype Studios. Each member of your company comes with between one and three random traits which influences their skills and abilities and can impact how much they cost to recruit and their daily wage. There are positive and negative traits with the “Founding Member” one being a special trait for beginning members (now removed). This guide shows all the traits currently available in the game.

Acolyte of Davkul (in Davkul Cultists origin)
+10 Resolve

Addict
-10% Resolve, Melee Skill, Ranged Skill, Melee Defence, and Ranged Defence.

Ailing
Poison effects last 1 additional turn.

Asthmatic
-3 Fatigue Recovery per turn.

Athletic
Builds up 2 less fatigue for each tile travelled.

Brave
+5 Resolve.

Bleeder
Bleed effects last 1 additional turn.

Bloodthirsty
All kills are fatalities.

Blood Thirsty
All kills are fatalities (if the weapon allows).

Bright
+10% Experience Gain.

Brute
+15% Damage to a hit on the head, -5 Melee Skill.

Chosen of Davkul (in Davkul Cultists origin)
+20 Hitpoints, +10 Resolve, +5 Melee Defence, +5 Ranged Defence.

Club Footed
+2 Fatigue for each tile travelled.

Clumsy
-5 Melee Skill.

Cocky
+5 Resolve, -5 Melee Defense, -5 Ranged Defense.

Craven
-10 Resolve.

Dastard
Starts combat at wavering morale.

Deathwish
No morale check triggered upon losing Hitpoints.

Determined
Will start combat at confident morale.

Dexterous
+5 Melee Skill.

Disciple of Davkul (in Davkul Cultists origin)
+20 Hitpoints, +10 Resolve.

Disloyal
Fast to leave if you run out of crowns or provisions.

Double Grip
+25% Damage (with one hand free).

Dumb
-15% Experience Gain.

Drunkark
+10% damage +5 Resolve, -5 Melee Skill, -10 Ranged Skill.

Eagle Eyes
+1 Vision.

Fat
+10 Hitpoints, -10 Fatigue.

Fanatic of Davkul (in Davkul Cultists origin)
+5 Resolve,

Fainthearted
-5 Resolve.

Fragile
-10 Hitpoints.

Fearless
+10 Resolve.

Founding Member (Removed)
+5 Melee Skill, +5 Ranged Skill, +5 Resolve.

Fear of Beasts
-10 Resolve when in battle with beasts.

Fear of Greenskins
-10 Resolve when in battle with greenskins.

Fear of Undead
-10 Resolve when in battle with undead.

Greedy
This character is more likely to leave you if low crowns, +15% Crowns daily wage.

Gluttonous
Eats 3 food per day instead of 2. This character is more likely to leave you if low on provisions.

Hate of Beasts
+10 Resolve when in battle with beasts.

Hate of Greenskins
+10 Resolve when in battle with greenskins.

Hate of Undead
+10 Resolve when in battle with undead.

Hesitant
-10 Initiative.

Huge
+10% Melee Skill, -5 Melee Defence, -5 Ranged Defence.

Impatient
Always acts first in the first round of combat.

Insecure
Will never be of confident morale.

Irrational
Has +10 or -10 Resolve randomly at every morale check.

Iron Lungs
+4 Fatigue Recovery per turn.

Iron Jaw
The threshold to sustain injuries on getting hit is increased by 25%.

Loyal
This character is much less likely to leave you even if you run out of crowns and provisions.

Lucky
10% chance to require the attacker to make two successful attack rolls to hit you.

Optimist
+5 Resolve at positive morale checks.

Night Blind
-1 Vision during night time.

Night Owl
+1 Vision during night time.

Old
+10 Resolve, -10 Hitpoints, -10 Fatigue, -10 Initiative, -1 Vision.

Optimist
+5 Resolve at all positive morale checks.

Paranoid
+5 Melee Defence, +5 Ranged Defence, -30 Initiative.

Player Character
+10 Resolve (in Lone Wolf origin).

Pessimist
-5 Resolve at negative morale checks.

Prophet of Davkul (in Davkul Cultists origin)
+20 Hitpoints, +10 Resolve, +5 Melee Defence, +5 Ranged Defence.

Quick
+10 Initiative.

Spartan
Uses less provision and is much less likely to leave you even if you run out of provisions.

Short Sighted
-1 Vision.

Strong
+10 Fatigue.

Superstitious
-10 Resolve at morale checks against fear, panic or mind control effects.

Sure Footing
+5 Melee Defence.

Survivor
90% chance to survive if reduced to 0 Hitpoints.

Swift
+5 Ranged Defence.

Team Player
Has a 50% lower chance to inflict friendly fire.

Tiny
+5 Melee Defence, +5 Ranged Defence, -15% Damage.

Tough
+10 Hitpoints.

Weasel
+25 Ranged Defence while retreating.

Zealot of Davkul (in Davkul Cultists origin)
+10 Resolve.
