Xbox Live Marketplace Game Sale Begins Tomorrow

Microsoft via Major Nelson’s have announced that they will be starting a special summer sale tomorrow for one week only on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Game developers and publishers love summer sales maybe because they don’t release many new games during these months.

The “Ultimate Game Sale” finer details weren’t mention so I don’t know how long each game will be on sale for or what the discounts will be but you can expect this to be revealed on the actually day of sales.

The list of games on offer feature some new games such as Max Payne 3, Borderlands 2 and Tomb Raider and older games such as Left 4 Dead 2, Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway and The Orange Box.

  • Borderlands 2.
  • Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway.
  • Bulletstorm.
  • Command and Conquer Red Alert 3.

With all the games on sale expect their corresponding DLC to also be on sale and it is also worth mentioning that the games on sale will be Games on Demand versions of the game, in other words digital versions of games that cost more than they do in the shops. If for example a game is currently £19.99 on the Xbox Live Marketplace and is discounted by 50% it will still be around the £9.99 mark which in a lot of cases is still more expensive than you can get it online and in retail.

Sometimes the more convenient way of getting a game isn’t worth the extra cost.

The Ultimate Game sale will last from 1st July to 5th-7th July.
