The Creative Assembly the developers of all the excellent Total War games and a subsidiary of Sega have signed a deal to develop several games for the Warhammer franchise.
The first game is expected some time after 2013 as it creating a new team.
THQ has also confirmed that the Creative Assembly and Sega’s deal with Games Workshop is separate to THQ’s deal with the Warhammer 40,000 universe so don’t expect any 40k stuff from the Creative Assembly, maybe normal Warhammer or hopefully something different like a Man O’ War video game, that be pretty good game I think seeing as they are getting better with their naval combat.
All the Creative Assembly have to do is replace the skins of one of their old Total War games with Warhammer skins and it probably be good (maybe someone already has?). Of course it be even better if it’s an original game in its own right with elements taken from their previous games.
Theres been plenty of Warhammer video games over the years but there is probably only a handful of good ones. The video games Space Hulk, Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels and the Dawn of War franchise come to mind as good examples.
