General Manager of OnLive Bruce Grove has recently announced that their streaming service will be available on the OUYA Android games console. OnLive will be available on day one of the new consoles release.
Bruce Grove said on the OUYA Kickstarter page: “When OnLive first heard about Ouya, we were excited to see console gaming becoming more available and open. Like Ouya, we came to gaming with a new vision for making top-quality gaming accessible to more people, and we continue to look for ways to expand on that vision. Ouya is rethinking the console business, making waves by using standard technology to make gaming for your living room accessible, affordable and more innovative than ever. In OnLive’s case, we pioneered a groundbreaking, cloud-based system that instantly delivers games to any device on demand.”
Bruce Grove also said: “We are pleased to announce that OnLive will be available on Ouya at launch, extending and building on our commitment to make the best games available to everyone, everywhere.”
I am undecided on the OUYA console it has many positives such as easy developement, OnLive and many more features but there are still a few things about it that bother me. For one I don’t like their marketing campaign, I don’t like how they are raising money through Kickstarter while still getting investment from other sources and there’s many other things about OUYA that bother me.
It’s good to see things like OnLive being added to OUYA but while its good for the current members, people like me who aren’t will not benefit from it any way. OUYA should have its own built in system which offers something similar. Of course there’s the problem of cost but paying money every month to part of an online service in this case OnLive that’s not that great isn’t very tempting is it?
Currently OUYA with 12 days left on its Kickstarter has gained 43,736 backers and a total of $5,601,211 so far. You crazy fools, don’t be a sheep.
