Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be Available in September

It’s like a whole new game.

Overhaul Games have announced that the remake of the classic Baldur’s Gate is coming to PC on 18th September. Versions will be available for iPad and Mac OS X and they will also come out sometime in September while a version for Android will come out later.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition for PC includes three new characters: Dorn Il-Khan, Neera the Wild Mage, and Rasaad yn Bashir. One new area: The Black Pits. There will also new voice sets, support for high-resolution displays, “400 improvements to the original game” and improved multiplayer support which will allow play between all platforms. I don’t thing the orignal had multiplayer so that will be interesting.

From beamdog.com: “Running on an upgraded and improved version of the Infinity Engine, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition™ includes the entire Baldur’s Gate adventure, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, and never-before-seen content including a new adventure and three new party members: the Calishite monk Rasaad yn Bashir, Neera the wild mage, and Dorn Il-Khan, the evil blackguard.”

System Requirements:

  • Required System Memory (MB): 512 MB.
  • Minimum Graphics: GeForce 2 or Equivalent.
  • Processor Speed (GHz): 1 GHZ.

The PC version will be released digitally through Beamdog and will cost $19.99 (£12.72). You can save $2 (£1.27) off the regular price if you pre-purchase it now.

I would still recommend checking out the old versions available on gog.com and atari.com. Read the post below for more information.
