The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is Available. Also Four A Link Between Worlds Trailers

Nintendo have released a new Zelda last week that is both old and new. Its called The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and is available for the Nintendo 3DS. There is also a Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Limited Edition Nintendo 3DS XL available that comes with a gold and black Triforce design which includes a download code for the game.

A Link Between Worlds is set in the same world as the SNES game The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past but features new dungeons, puzzles, powers and more. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds makes a big change to the classic conventions of a Zelda game, allowing players to rent or buy the items they want, anytime in the game. Therefore you can take on dungeons in any order you choose. Link has also gained the power to merge onto walls as if he was a mural painting. This new ability is used a lot in the puzzles and offers a new take on what you view in a Zelda game. Link can also use the merge ability to move between the ancient kingdom of Hyrule and the dark world of Lorule which are mirrors worlds of one another.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is a great game and shows what Nintendo can do with even a familiar and safe title such a Zelda. It shows they can reinvent what you expect to see and do in a Zelda game. I highly recommend people buy and play it.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata quite recent Iwata Asks features an interesting interview with game producer Eiji Aonuma and his team discuss Shigeru Miyamoto’s initial reaction to the game concept, their dream of breaking Zelda conventions and what led to the game’s setting.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is available now, both in retail shops and as a downloadable version from Nintendo eShop but buy a retail copy unless you want to waste money when you don’t need to.
